About the Author

Kathryn Lynch, a native of Lancaster, Ohio, is one of the cofounders of the Roseville Historical Society. She is active in various local arts and humanities projects. Michael S. Sims is a lifelong resident of Zanesville who has published 14 articles pertaining to various aspects of the history of the city’s floor and wall tile industry. He holds degrees from Kent State University and Ohio University. He taught science for the Tri-Valley School District for 30 years and is currently an adjunct professor at Ohio University, Zanesville campus.

I grew up here and reading this book really brought back memories. Great information and pictures. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who lived or lives here.

I read this book cover to cover at home, then I put the book in my car. Now, whenever I am out and about, I can compare historical photographs to the actual locations around town. It is so fascinating! I gave this book to a hard-to-buy for man for Christmas, and he says it was his favorite gift this year! My brother also has a copy, and he takes his from location to location as well. Highly recommended if you are curious about the history of your hometown!

Well worth the money and time to read. We enjoyed the book's pictures and clear captions and stories. Very enjoyable.

I left Zanesville in 1960 , this book brought back a lot of good Memories , I liked it so much I bought 3 more copies for My Brothers , My family has lived in that area for almost 200 years , Great Book

I am working on scrap booking my family history. My family were early settlers in Zanesville and the photos in this book will help me to recreate life in the 1800's.

My mother was born and grew up in Zanesville. This was a gift for her and she loves it. It has lots of old photos and she said it brings back memories of when she was a child. Very nice book.
