This is one outstanding book. If you think you'll be driving like Jason Borne, well then you're in for a disappointment. This is not a book of stunt car maneuvers. However, Robert Deathrage covers route analyse and techniques and procedures for overseas travel. This is whether you're in a combat tactical environment or simply commuting to and from base overseas in foreign travel. His maneuvers are simple: minimizing damage to your vehicle. His concept is simple, easy to remember in high stress situations. Most of your survival is based upon careful planning and analysis. He talks about how most ambushes can be avoided beforehand with situational awareness. If you are caught in an ambush, then it is too late. the odds are against you and you made many mistakes. Most likely being too predictable. I highly recommend this book to any overseas contractor, military soldier or any military personnel living overseas.

Though geared toward security drivers, or others in constant harm's way, most of this book is valuable advice for any driver. The author covers the dynamics of vehicle movement, braking, and maneuvering in great detail, enabling any driver to improve his or her driving safety.For those who live in the inner city or other dangerous environment, this book will enhance your safety with tips on how to deal with road rage, attempted cut-offs/roadblocks, and hijacking. A valuable addition to any security professional's library. Also a valuable resource for the average driver who wants to arrive home safe and sound.

great read, very interesting look from a former soldier's perspective on military driving tactics in war environments. As a US driving instructor I am always looking for relevant information about driving safety and while this book's discussions were not very applicable to civilian environments, i still learned a lot from Deatherage's well organized book.

Good book. Shows (with pictures) and tells how to do IT. Told me how to do things where I would have thought the opposite would work. Hope I never end up on the roads he discusses, but the book prepares you. Interesting reading even without the driving concerns.
