She’s a horrid racist! I am stunned!
I hate it, but I encourage you to read it. Hitler publicly thanked American eugenicists for their supposedly groundbreaking work, and this book will tell you why.
Margaret Sanger, publishing "Pivot" in 1922, was very prescient in realizing that democratic government and the economy would be threatened in the future since people with low levels of intelligence were reproducing rapidly and people with high levels of intelligence were reproducing slowly.However, Sanger's writing and organization skills in "Pivot" were not top-notch. And, talk of socialist economics (like claiming that economic production should be decreased so that America can be wealthier) did not make any sense.I regard this book as a classic despite the mediocre presentation because of the author's great influence as the founder of "Planned Parenthood" and because I respect anyone with the bravery to be outspoken on the need for eugenics.John Christmas, author of "Democracy Society"
This is a great book written by Margaret Sanger herself. Did you ever read those posts about how racist she was? Well it's all true and her own essays condemn her.She refers to blacks, immigrants, people of "low intelligence" as people who should never have been born ! Wow. And this is the founder of Planned Parenthood that make a profit from destroying innocent children in the womb. Most recently one of their top executives was caught red handed on tape how they sell baby body parts.This cesspool organization is funded by the government also. President Obama gave them $400m in government grants last year.....$400m.
A good insight into the motivation of Sanger and what she was trying to achieve. I did find it humanizing, and although I don't agree with all of her ideas (and many simply represented the thinking and science of the day) she was driven by compassion and the felt need to make the world a better place. So much of what is quoted of her is so taken out of context and used for various political stripes - it was nice to see what she said in context, and at the same time frustrating to see how often she is quoted so badly out of context.
Read this book to get a clear picture of the character of Sanger and her Eugenicist colleagues.
Beware, this pretends to be Margaret Sanger's book but it is not. It is vitriolic and has taken phrases of MS out of context, comparing her to the Nazis. I thought I bought her book and regret I paid any money for this. I am surprised Amazon even lists it as a Margaret Sanger book.
