I purchased this book for the jewelry so my review is based on that portion alone. I found the book poorly organized. Sterling items were spread throughout the book instead of all being found in the chapter subtitled "The Sterling Years". In the Sterling chapter, you'll find non-sterling pieces and non-sterling ads. I would have preferred the book be organized by Eisenberg Division so the jewelry was continuous. There were sufficient examples from the 40s but the 50s were not represented well (other than in ads). The images are average quality and there are generally no back pics; no estimated values.The dating of some "Source unknown" ads is not precise (i.e. pg. 146 is a 1953 ad). Since the book title states 1920s to 1950s, why is there an ad on pg.144 from 1967 and a dog collar from 1970? The book has incorrect attributions one of which is on pg 46 figure 2.52. Those are Mazer earrings and can be verified by several retail ads. A picture of the back would have shown whether there's a "Script E" marking or a stone setter's letter (as my earrings have). Also, there is incorrect information in the book (i.e. Reinad's history and relationship).My biggest aggravation came from the authors lauding the fakes (aka recasts or reproductions) claiming some are "magnificent quality". There is nothing magnificent about a fake; its purpose is to defraud the public. The fakes referenced by the authors are poorly polished with lumpy backs, they lack the precision of the originals and some aren't even Eisenberg designs yet bear a (fraudulent) Eisenberg mark. These should have been exposed; not praised.It's unfortunate the authors chose to limit the years of jewelry from about 1935 to 1960 since it represents only 25 of the company's approximately 70 years in the jewelry business. Their fabulous rhinestone bracelets, bib necklaces and chandelier earrings were missed. The colorful array of pins from the 60s are noticeably absent as are the high quality enamels from the 70s. These are what kept the company alive long after the clothing was gone.

Beautiful reference book and filled both history and pictures of the jewelry.

I like this book. It has plenty of pictures but I wanted more! There are so many Eisenberg pieces out there and I wish this book could have put more of them into it. But it is very informative and I learned a lot about the company! I would recommend this book and I hope another one will come out with more pieces of their jewelry!! This is a good book!!!

This book has been needed for so long and the quality is what one would expect of a book on Eisenberg Jewelry. So many jewelry books are page after page of photos with no meat to their lovely bones but this book could lose all its wonderful photos and shill be a major work. The photos are top drawer but more important is the information offered on each page. This is a sit down and read book - and the re-read it. Not only is the jewelry well covered but also fashions, accessories and all the goodies that made Eisenberg such a special company. I'm very glad to have purchased it and will be using it for many years.
